For all the earlier promises about transparency and accountability, the Liberal government of PM Justin Trudeau has been anything but transparent and accountable. It has become a rare sight worth reporting when the prime minister or a minister answers a question directly and clearly. The pattern is a typical word salad with no meaning related to the question. In the rare moments when one can make sense of the answer, it typically communicates the government’s message points of the day or week.
This government does not spend great energy doing or following up on things they said they would do. PR technocrats run the government, constantly managing what is being said rather than what should be done.
