This first episode of Though Farming co-hosted with David McLellan puts the spotlight on freedom of speech. Freedom of expression is a cornerstone of free societies. But the pro-Hamas and pro-Palestinian protests all around us are pushing against the limits of free expression. Note to readers: A bad connection chopped a fraction of the conversation around the 20min mark. The conversation there is about what some of the US Founding Fathers thought about political parties. The missing sentences are about how Madison understood the problem of what he perceivedas factions, thought the solution was not to ban factions but to make sure there would be sufficient liberty for factions to multiply and serve as a counterbalance.
